Isn’t All Kombucha Alike?
Jun vs. Traditional
Did you mean to spell that June, Noelle? Well, actually, No!!
*What exactly is this spin on regular kombucha?
*Is it just as healthy as conventional kombucha?
*Is it more expensive than other kombucha?
For years I’ve been drinking kombucha because I know fermented foods are so friendly and beneficial to our gut. However, as I delved deeper down the rabbit hole, I found that my traditional fermented drink made with black tea and sugar was offered in an even healthier form-and in walks JUN KOMBUCHA…the champagne of fizzy drinks!
Jun is made with green tea and honey-which, hello, talk about 2 powerful, probiotic rich foods for our bodies!! Jun has living yeasts, and they contain B vitamins in a whole food form. Conventional Jun has about 2% alcohol (the fermentation) compared to its counterpart that has about .5%.
So, the question of June being as healthy as regular kombucha is a resounding, “YES!”
This healthy alternative beverage tends to be a bit pricier, on average, than standard kombucha (but always keep an eye out for it at your local Grocery Outlet). This really is its only drawback. Honey tends to be a little more expensive than cane sugar, but it’s exponentially healthier for you, too!!
And, just to fend off the critics, Jun tastes very similar to regular kombucha. Friends, what are you waiting for?!?!
Cheering you on,
Noelle
