Flax, Soy and Hormones
I know, these three don’t sound like they belong in the same sentence, but they do!! In my thermography business, one of the additional services my reviewing doctor, Dr. William Amalu, offers in our breast imaging series is to look for and monitor hormone patterns in the blood vessels.
Flax and soy are phytoestrogens which are estrogen-like compounds derived from plants. These two crops often have glyphosate sprayed on them to kill certain weeds. However, this herbicide has proven to be harmful to humans and can alter a woman’s hormone patterns. This goes back to why it is SO IMPORTANT to know where your food comes from, know your farmer, and know what you are putting into your body.
Since increased exposure to certain hormones over a period of time may be linked with a higher risk of breast cancer, it is prudent to know if what you’re ingesting is more helpful or harmful to supporting your body well. It is also important to note that flax and soy may not impact every person the same way.
The blood vessel pattern that presents itself as a thermal signal indicating possible hormone effects can also show up in women who have fibrocystic or cystic breasts. It is good to see your integrative or naturopathic doctor to determine the root cause.
Who knew that common crops like flax, soy (and corn), to name a few, could be more negative than positive for your whole wellness!!
P.S. The photo is from a recent trip to the beach, and I just found it to be calming and peaceful!!
Cheering you on,
